Hollywood star for McCartney

The legendary musician had been the only member of The Beatles who did not have a star on the famous sidewalk in Los Angeles.

McCartney received his honour at a ceremony outside the Capitol Records building in Hollywood, where he recorded his latest album Kisses on the Bottom.

The singer had been nominated to receive the honour in 1998, but a ceremony could not be scheduled. Ringo Starr was awarded his Walk of Fame star in 2010, while John Lennon, George Harrison and The Beatles as a collective have a star.
