Tabu to play a cop in Drishyam remake

We had recently reported that Ajay Devgn had green lighted the Hindi remake of Malayalam super hit Drishyam after dropping his own directorial venture Shivaay.

The film will be helmed by Nishikant Kamat, who previously directed the Marathi blockbuster Lai Bhaari and won a National Award for Dombivali Fast.

According to sources, talented actress Tabu has been roped in to play the pivotal role of a cop in the film. The director is now scouting for an appropriate female lead to star opposite Ajay in the film.

The Malayalam film was a critical and box office success and has won several awards.

As with all remakes, we hope Nishikant can capture the true elements of the film and bring them alive on screen. The movie will go on floors this month.
