Nathalia Pinheiro set for Bollywood debut

She is one quarter Indian and on the verge of her Bollywood debut, already a darling of many an industry biggie.

Meet Nathalia, the winner of Kingfisher Calendar Hunt 2012 and Ram Gopal Varma's latest muse.

Born and raised in Brazil, Nathalia will be seen shaking a leg in an item number in RGV's next, Department, which boasts of an eclectic cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah and Sanjay Dutt, among others.

The 21-year-old's real name is Nathalia Pinheiro. She reportedly decided to drop her surname for easy recognition in Bollywood.

Nathalia's father is half-Punjabi and half-Portuguese, while her mother is a Brazilian of Portuguese origin. She had an early brush with showbiz, taking up modelling at the age of 14, and arrived in India 10 months ago.

Rumour has it that it was Sanjay Dutt who recommended Nathalia to RGV, who immediately signed her up to feature in the highlight 'Dan Dan' item number that was initially supposed to be filmed on porn star Sunny Leone.

That plan failed as the Bigg Boss star had already signed an exclusive deal with Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, who will launch her in Jism 2.

But RGV takes the turn of events as a divine intervention. Or that's what he would have us believe.

"We were trying for Sunny leone bt by Gods grace it dint work out or else v wud have lost out on someone as divine as Nathalia and I thank God for that (sic)," the filmmaker tweeted on Thursday.

"I dint ever see a Nathalia kind of combination of a classically beautiful face with an angel like body nd then so highly expressive (sic)," he added.

Sanjay Dutt, who will share screen space with Nathalia in 'Dan Dan', too, is completely in awe of her. "Over the years I thought I have seen everything... but I haven't seen anything like Nathalia. Awesommme (sic)," Dutt was quoted as saying in a web link posted by RGV.

'Dan Dan' has been composed by budding composers Dharam-Sandeep, who apparently are big names in Telugu cinema, and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

Incidentally, this is the first time RGV is going all out to promote an item number since Eesha Koppikhar's superhit 'Khallas' in his 2002 film, Company. It was 'Khallas' that triggered off the current trend of item dances in Bollywood.

Shortly after her calendar model hunt win, Nathalia had said she wanted to be a Bollywood star and that while she wouldn't mind doing item dances she would "prefer numbers that had a touch of sophistication"."I won't sign an item number just for the sake of money," she had said.
