Madhuri gets an accent & new job

The ’90s megastar Madhuri Dixit will be Jhallak Dikhlaa Jaa Season 4judge

MADHURI DIXIT, looking as gorgeous as ever and flaunting a newly acquired American accent, is waiting for the channels to re- run the Bigg Boss 4 episodes that had Hollywood has- been Pamela Anderson dancing to the sizzling Dhak Dhak Karne Laga number from the superhit film Beta . “ I have heard so much about it but I could not see the episode where Pamela danced to the tunes of Dhak Dhak ,” said Madhuri, a. k. a.

Mrs Nene, who had made the hearts of her fans go dhak dhak with her moves to the evergreen number from the 1992 film. “ I’m sure she must have looked awesome, I am looking forward to see the re- runs,” added the superstar of the 1990s who was in the city to flag off the fourth season of the dance reality show Jhallak Dikhlaa Jaa ( Sony TV).

Madhuri, who’s a judge on the show, shared the spotlight with choreographer Remo D’Souza and the show’s anchor, Mona Singh, a. k. a. Jassi, after the lead character from Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi who launched her television career.

Looking ravishing in a red saree, Madhuri was her usual smiling self and did not evade any question thrown at her. On the insistence of the crowd present, Dixit also shook a leg along with Remo. When asked about staged fights between the judges in various reality shows, she said, “ We are not going to decide and fight but we will surely fight while judging this show.” Being the only actress to have worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan , she was asked if she would like to be the peacemaker in the ongoing feud between the two superstars.

“ I am not here to be a peacemaker or someone to do a patch- up between two people. It’s their personal life and their decision. But I would meet all my old friends on this visit,” Madhuri said, at her diplomatic best.

Madhuri, who was last seen on the small screen in the matrimony- based show, Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai ( 2002), is surprised at the way television has grown in India in the last eight years. “ Reality shows have become the most dominating feature on TV,” she said. “ And television has become a powerful medium. That is why I have chosen to be a judge on this show.” There was a strong buzz about Dixit playing the role of Indira Gandhi in an international production. She hotly denied the story. “ I never confirmed doing the film,” she said. “ Even before the role was offered to me, the stories were out that I was in the film, but the truth is I never gave a nod.” Keeping up with the latest trends, Madhuri also plans to be on the social networking universe. “ I will soon be on Facebook or Twitter. But let me first get all the fake accounts with my name erased,” she laughed. Well, Mrs Nene has her hands full.
