Khans Eye 'City'

Theirs is one war which is likely to go on forever. And what's better, there's more cinematic fuel readying to be poured into the fire of rivalry between Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

In a dramatic twist of events, both Khans are on the write path. Er, they haven't turned authors out of the blue! Rather, both cine icons are readying to craft flicks based on penned efforts, both of which have the title word 'City' in common.

Aamir Khan is all set to star in the adaptation of 'Maximum City' based on the book by Suketu Mehta, and the flick to be helmed by Danny Boyle ('Slumdog Millionaire') will go on floors in 2011.

Mehta's 2004 effort 'Maximum City' combines the elements of travel writing, memoirs and looks at the socio political analysis of the history and people of Mumbai.

Shah Rukh Khan, meanwhile, seems to have been quite taken up with 'Xtreme City', a flick directed by Paul Schrader and based on a script written by him. The flick slated to roll in 2011, looks at the underbelly of Mumbai's slums and the people living in it. The movie to be filmed in English, is also slated to star a Hollywood actor and will be produced by Anubhav Sinha under his own banner.
