Three arrested over murder of Indian student

Two youths and a man are being questioned in connection with the 'unprovoked' murder of 23-year-old Indian student in Brtitain.

Anuj Bidve, a micro-electronics postgraduate from Lancaster University, was shot in the head at point-blank range as he walked with friends near their hotel in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has said that two boys, aged 16 and 17, and a man were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, Mirror.co.uk reports.

GMP said it was "an awful attack which appeared to be unprovoked on a young student who was just going about his business".

Bidve was walking with his other Indian friends towards Manchester city center, where they were stopped by a man who began a short conversation with the victim before taking out a handgun and blasting him at close range.

A Facebook page set up in memory of Bidve, said that he was "killed for not answering a simple question - What's the time?"

GMP have not disclosed what was said during the short conversation between the killer and his victim.

The force said that the three suspects remain in custody for questioning.
